Government Publishes Updated 'Remediation Schemes' Collection

The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage has published its new Remediation Schemes collection, consolidating multiple housing-related remediation supports in one place.

What's included:

Defective Concrete Blocks Grant Scheme — offers targeted funding to homeowners whose dwellings have been compromised by defective concrete blocks, specifically in counties Clare, Donegal, Limerick, Mayo, and Sligo.

Pyrite Remediation Scheme — a scheme of last resort designed to address homes significantly affected by pyritic damage, for which no other redress is feasible.

Interim Remediation Scheme for Fire Safety Defects in Apartments and Duplexes — provides full funding for emergency fire safety defect works in apartments and duplexes built between 1991 and 2013, serving as a temporary measure until a full statutory remediation programme is legislated.

Why it matters: this consolidated collection gives property owners, management companies, and professionals clear access to the latest remediation supports available across various building defect scenarios. It also highlights important opportunities for contractors — such as Forte Pespa — to provide compliant, quality balcony solutions when remediation involves façade or structural works.
